Hello and Welcome!

Whether you are searching for support during a difficult season or seeking help with processing past trauma, I am hopeful that our work together will be a valuable tool as you grow and heal.

The therapeutic relationship, between client and counselor, is one of the most impactful aspects of therapy. Read more about me below to see if I might be a good fit for you!

About Anna

LPC // MA MFTC // EMDR TRAINED

I’m Anna Mahaffey, an LPC in Flowood, MS, and I’m honored to serve and support clients through some of life’s more challenging seasons.

A little background about me…
One of my childhood dreams was actually to become a counselor (crazy, right?). Over the years, I found so much encouragement and healing through the counselors I met—both during my school years and into adulthood—that I felt inspired to pursue that same path myself.

Funny enough, I first earned my Bachelor’s in Journalism with a Minor in Art from Ole Miss (a fun and creative detour). Even then, though, I knew my heart was being pulled toward counseling. After graduation, I worked for a campus ministry I loved—RUF at Texas A&M—for two years, and during that time, I continued to sense the Lord’s leading to pursue my Master’s in Counseling at RTS in Jackson, MS.

I’ve been counseling professionally since 2017, and I feel deeply blessed that this “job” allows me to witness healing and growth in the lives of clients I grow to love and admire.

I have a heart for those who carry the weight of pain they’ve witnessed or experienced. I have my own stories of hurt and struggle, and I believe those experiences help me bring a sense of genuine empathy and connection to my work. In that same way, I also carry stories of hope and healing—and I’ve found that sometimes my clients can “borrow my hope,” so to speak, as they navigate their own paths toward wholeness.

I truly care about my clients and strive to serve them with compassion and integrity—whether that means walking alongside them directly or connecting them with the best resources or referrals for their needs. To me, counseling isn’t just about what I can offer—it’s about the courage and humility it takes to show up, commit to the process, and believe that hope is worth pursuing and that healing is possible.

As a Christian, my worldview is deeply informed by my faith. I genuinely believe the Lord is the true agent of change and healing, working in and through the counseling process.

What a privilege it is to cross paths with you. I hope we get the opportunity to work together towards your goals and personal healing.

Warmly,

Anna Mahaffey, LPC

“I’ve been working with Anna for over three years, and she has been such a grounding and supportive presence through some of my hardest seasons…

She has helped me navigate infertility, reconnect with my identity, and build a stronger sense of who I am. I always feel seen, heard, and empowered in our sessions. I truly love working with her and am excited to begin EMDR together as I continue this journey of growth.”
