Counseling Services

What if the idea of “going to counseling” was actually positive?

What if counseling wasn’t just another appointment, but a space where you felt genuinely seen, heard, and valued? What if you actually looked forward to your sessions because they gave you space to pause, reflect, and explore your story without judgment. What if you found a place where you’re invited to be your whole self—vulnerable, messy, hopeful, and real. Anna’s heart is to curate that kind of experience for her clients.

In individual counseling, we’ll work together to better understand your emotions, relationships, and experiences, helping you build insight, resilience, and practical tools for change. Whether you’re facing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, burnout, relationship struggles, or life transitions, counseling can be a place of hope, restoration, and transformation.

Individual Counseling

55-60 minute session

Counseling Intensive

120 minutes and up (to be determined when scheduling based on client’s needs)**

Sometimes, the healing journey calls for a deeper dive. Counseling intensives offer extended, focused time to work through challenges in a more concentrated and intentional way. Intensives allow us to spend several hours together in one sitting or across a few days. This extended time creates space for deeper exploration, potentially quicker progress, and more comprehensive healing. We can move beyond surface-level issues, spend time fully processing emotions or memories, and integrate more specific therapeutic interventions at a pace that feels both safe and productive.

**Important Note: Insurance will not pay for services of this length. Intensives are Self Pay only.

Family & Couples Counseling

55-60 minute session

Family counseling can help improve communication, strengthen parenting skills, and bring greater harmony to your home. Whether you’re parenting young children, guiding teens, or navigating family transitions, you’ll gain tools to support one another with understanding and grace.

In couples counseling, we focus on building trust, resolving conflict, deepening emotional closeness, or preparing for marriage through premarital counseling. These sessions provide practical tools and insight to help you grow together and build a strong foundation for the future.

Anna is trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy as well as Prepare/Enrich for Premarital counseling.

How To Get Started

When you reach out via online contact form, email, phone, etc. Anna will aim to contact you within the next 24-48 hours during regular business hours.

If you contact her during a weekend or holiday, you may experience a delay in response but she will get back to you as soon as possible the next business day.

Mahaffey Counseling’s contact information is not monitored 24/7 and should not be used as a crisis intervention service. Please call 911 in the event of an emergency.

Step 1

After Anna responds to your inquiry, she will send you an invitation to the SimplePractice Client Portal. From there, you can create a portal account and begin filling out intake documents. Anna does require a credit or debit card on file in order to schedule the first appointment.

You are welcome to schedule a free 15 minute consultation call before you book a session. This consultation call is only for the purpose of asking clarifying questions related to desired services and service cost. No therapeutic services will be rendered at that time.

Step 2

Step 3

Once you complete your intake paperwork and schedule a session, it’s time to actually get to work!

Mahaffey Counseling is an affiliate of Collective Hope and shares a lobby with other Collective Hope practitioners. Simply send Anna a message through SimplePractice or Spruce to let her know you have arrived. Please feel free to make yourself a cup of coffee while you wait. Anna will meet you in the lobby at your appointment time and walk with you to her office.
